About the role
Brief overview of the role:
This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to kick start their career within the food production industry to become a Mechanical Automation & Maintenance Fitter.
39 hours, 8am – 4:30pm Monday to Friday
The apprentice will learn and develop technical skills and knowledge throughout the program. He/she will be part of the site maintenance team and will understudy the team members on a daily basis. He/she will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of machinery across the entire site.
Qualifications and skills
Leaving Certificate – at least grade D in five subjects
Candidates may be required to pass a SOLAS approved colour vision test
Candidates should have a technical aptitude and an interest in understanding how equipment operates. You will need to work to a high standard with an attention to detail to ensure that maintenance activities are carried out safely and effectively at all times.
Training to be provided:
The successful candidate will be registered as a Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitter Apprentice with SOLAS immediately after commencing employment. The apprenticeship scheme will typically take at least 4 years to complete, comprising of both “on-the-job” and “off-the-job” phases. More information can be found at www.apprenticeship.ie.
Primarily based in Carrigaline, but will be located at SOLAS training centres for “off -the-job” phases.
