Medical Records Administrator
Medical Records Administrator – Permanent, Part-time (20 Hours per week)
This is a permanent part-time role at Saint John of God Hospital, at Grade IV level, reporting to the Administrative Coordinator. The role of Ward Clerk & Healthcare Records Administrator is to assist with administrative processes, to provide healthcare records administrative support and to provide reception relief cover. In addition, the post-holder is responsible for filing, organising and retrieving patients’ healthcare records; both hardcopy documentation and their Electronic Paper Record [MHIS].
Essential Qualifications:
· Eligible applicants will be those, who on the closing date of the application, possess:
· Leaving Certificate or FETAC Level 5 or equivalent required as a minimum.
· High degree of confidentiality required.
· Experience working within a highly confidential and regulated environment.
· The requisite knowledge and ability, including a high standard of suitability, for the proper discharge of the role; including knowledge of healthcare records management and relevant data protection legislation.
· Administrative experience and excellent organisational skills.
· Excellent IT skills - Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
· Experience in hospital IT systems desirable (Patient Administration Systems or Electronic Patient Record).
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to communicate successfully and sensitively with patients, the public, staff, management and external stakeholders.
· Excellent ability to plan, prioritise workload and highly motivated.
