The National Orthopaedic Hospital Cappagh (NOHC) has 37 Orthopaedic Surgeons

and is Ireland’s largest dedicatedOrthopaedic centre,thenationalreferralcentreforpostprostheticjointinfections,Ireland’sprimary referralcentreforboneandsofttissuetumours,

andthededicatedsurgicalcentrefortheNationalSarcoma Service.NOHCalsoprovides

orthopaediconcology,rehabilitation,rheumatologyandpaediatricservices,and sportsand

exercisemedicine.HometotheNationalBoneBank,theHospitalisaffiliatedwithRCSI,UCD

and DCUasateachingcentre.Moreover,weundertakeexcitingresearchincollaboration

withacademic partners, peers, scientists, engineers and industry.

The Microbiology Department at NOHC processes approximately 30,000 samples per

annum and is accredited to ISO 15189:2022. The Microbiology Department also

provides Pathology services to an external private hospital as well as the National and

Regional Bone Banks, and is licensed as a Tissue Establishment (2004/23/EC) by the

Health Products Regulatory Authority. The Microbiology Department is well equipped

with technology/instrumentation;

Winpath LIS, Vitek 2, BacT/ALERT and GeneXpert.

Applicants should:

• Applications will be considered from Medical Scientists qualifying from approved courses in

2025.

• The ideal candidate would be a dynamic Medical Scientist with an in-depth knowledge of and

experience in Microbiology.

• Qualifications for the post are stipulated by the Health Service Executive.

• Evidence of Registration with CORU must be supplied with the application.

NOHC oinceolaíocht ortaipéideach, athshlánú, réamateolaíocht agus seirbhísí

péidiatraiceacha, agus leigheas spóirt agus aclaíochta freisin. Tá an tOspidéal

lonnaithe sa Bhanc Náisiúnta Cnámh, agus tá sé cleamhnaithe le RCSI, UCD agus

DCU mar ionad teagaisc. Ina theannta sin, déanaimid taighde spreagúil i gcomhar le

comhpháirtithe acadúla, piaraí, eolaithe, innealtóirí agus tionscal.

na bliana agus tá sí creidiúnaithe le ISO 15189:2022. Soláthraíonn an Roinn

Micribhitheolaíochta seirbhísí Paiteolaíochta d'ospidéal príobháideach seachtrach

chomh maith leis na Bainc Náisiúnta agus Réigiúnacha, agus tá sí ceadúnaithe mar

Bhunaíocht Fíocháin (2004/23/CE) ag an Údarás Rialála Táirgí Sláinte. Tá an Roinn

Micribhitheolaíochta feistithe go maith le teicneolaíocht/ionstraimíocht;
