Medical Secretary/Administration Role
Maternity Cover Needed - 29 hours per week
Experience working in a G.P. surgery or hospital environment is preferable.
- Must possess strong administration skills
- An ability to exercise initiative and to work in an organised and methodical manner whilst handling multiple priorities
- Strong follow up on reports, emails, calls etc.
- An ability to work well and effectively with others
- An ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Strong ethos of confidentiality
- Knowledge of medical terminology an advantage
- Experience of a practice management software is desirable, Socrates is in use in the medical centre.
The right candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills and have empathy and patience dealing with patients.
Strong computer skills are essential for this role.
Duties include:
- Dealing with all inbound and outbound queries
- Scheduling appointments
- Ability to pay a high level of attention to detail with accurate input
- Updating patient records and scanning documents
- Preparing prescriptions and arranging referrals
- Responding to emails
- Scanning documents to patient charts
- Credit/Debit card processing and end of day account preparation
- Maintain reception, waiting rooms and surgery
- Completion of documents and claiming such as social welfare and insurance forms
- Billing debtors and follow up on unpaid fees
- Any other duties as required

Schedule: Day shift - Tuesday to Friday
