Job Purpose
As a Member Service Officer, you will play a key role in delivering an exceptional member experience. Working across our branch network, you will be responsible for supporting members with a range of financial transactions, processing loans, handling enquiries, and promoting products and services that meet members’ needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, has strong administrative and organisational skills, and is looking to develop a career within the financial services sector.
Main Responsibilities
- Deliver professional frontline and back-office support across branch, telephone and online channels.
- Process member transactions including lodgements, withdrawals, transfers and electronic payments.
- Manage member account administration, including account openings and account reactivations.
- Process loan applications and loan drawdowns in accordance with lending policies and regulatory requirements.
- Respond to member queries efficiently and provide first-contact resolution wherever possible.
- Promote relevant products and services that support members’ financial wellbeing.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with credit union policies and regulatory requirements.
- Support operational, administrative and reporting requirements as required.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, training programmes and member events.
Competencies Required:
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous customer-facing experience or previous experience working in a financially regulated entity would be desirable.
- Excellent communication, numerical and administrative skills with a high attention to detail.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- A professional, approachable and member-focused attitude with the ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
- A full clean driving licence and access to own transport would be advantageous.
Qualifications
- A third-level qualification in business, financial services, administration or a related discipline (desirable).
- QFA qualification desirable (or actively working towards obtaining a qualification) in line with the Minimum Competency Code (MCC) set out by the Central Bank.
Successful candidates will be expected to meet the Central Bank Fitness & Probity standards.
