Exciting Opportunity- Member Service Officers Monaghan Credit Union Ltd
An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 full-time Member Service Officers to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing an excellent standard of service to members of Monaghan Credit Union and performing a range of supporting duties.

General Scope of the Role
Successful candidates will be required to provide professional, friendly & efficient front-line services to members through a variety of channels. You will be responsible for carrying out a range of administrative & operational activities that contribute to delivering a quality service to members and to the effective running of the Credit Union. You’ll work closely with a supportive team in a fast-paced, member-focused environment.
Main Purpose of the Role
The position will require you to assist members with all aspects of Credit Union business while working as part of a team to provide administration and support in dealing with:
- Providing services to members including processing of lodgments', withdrawals, issue of loans, loan repayments and foreign exchange transactions.
- Accurately and competently handling cash; reconciling cash balances daily.
- Assisting members and providing details on the range of services offered by the credit union.
- Promote Monaghan Credit Union’s Products & Services.
- Updating member information and ensuring the database is maintained to a high standard.
- Scanning and filing and other administrative tasks.
- Participate in periodic project work in support of wider objectives across the organisation.
- Ensure compliance with existing and new systems & controls, and policies & procedures necessary, as outlined by the Risk, Compliance, MLRO & DPO, the Internal Audit Function and Operations Manager.
- To undertake such other reasonable and lawful duties as may be directed from time to time by your supervisor.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth office operations
- Undertake relevant training to satisfy the minimum competency requirements as set out in the Central Bank Guidelines.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Excellent administration skills and attention to detail.
- Experience of cash handling an advantage.
- Experience working in a role within a credit union or similar financial institution ideal, but not essential as full training will be provided.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good IT skills.
- Experience in reporting with some financial analysis skills.
- Ability to use discretion and sensitivity in dealing with members.
- Demonstrate self-initiative while working within the ethos of the credit union.
- Strong teamwork ability.
Details of the role:
The role will be based between our Monaghan and Ballybay offices in line with the needs of the business.
The position is full-time Monday to Saturday with a day off during the week.
Friday includes a late shift on alternative weeks, 9.00 am - 5.15 pm or 12.00 pm- 8.15pm.
Salary: Commensurate with experience.
The successful candidate will be required to satisfy the minimum competency requirements as set out in the Central Bank Guidelines, (QFA/CUA/APA in Loans/Pathways CU Diploma/ACCUP). The Credit Union will provide financial support for the successful candidate to obtain this qualification if they do not have it currently.
