What you’ll do as a Merchandiser
As a Merchandiser at Primark, you’ll play a critical role in the delivery of the product strategy in Primark. In partnership with the Buying teams, you will be responsible for building and delivering your section strategy through strong commercial, analytical and influencing skills.
As a senior leader, you are empowered to build, coach and develop an engaging and high performing team and are expected to support Primark’s culture of an inclusive and diverse environment.
What we’re looking for
An experienced strategic merchandiser with strong leadership skills.
Effective communicator - Bring a strong ability to influence key stakeholders, engage your team and present strategies.
People-minded leadership - Use your passion for people to develop your team, share constructive feedback and coach your colleagues to excellence. You’re able to implement change and build strong relationships with members of your own team and the wider business.
Driving business - Support the Head of Merchandising in continually seeking to identify new opportunities to enhance our value proposition, while supporting the departmental delivery of sales, markdown, stock turn and contribution budgets.
Strategically minded - Develop option plans, set targets for the Buying team and influence the range building process through regular range review meetings. In addition, you’ll develop financial framework which considers market trends, historical trends and financial targets.
Future-oriented - Work with the Head of Merchandising to agree all financial macro-targets, will be responsible for forecasts and sign off on actions. You’ll identify future risks.
Trend-spotter - Manage the seasonality of our ranges with your team and drive key decisions that impact our product designs and selections.
Data-driven innovator - Respond to performance changes with innovative solutions and base your decision on data. You’ll use insights to identify future trends and act on these quickly.
