The Group’s Agribusiness Division (Lakeland Agri) operates a state-of-the-art Animal Feed Manufacturing Facility and is a leading and innovative provider of the highest quality feeds and agricultural inputs to dairy, beef and sheep farmers across the north and south of Ireland

We are now seeking applications for the position of Metal Fabrication Apprentice to join our engineering team based in the Killeshandra, Co. Cavan site. Reporting to the Maintenance Co- ordinator.

As Metal Fabrication apprentice, you will be required to embark upon a four-year Metal Fabrication Apprenticeship consisting of 7 phases combining academic study with practical work experience to attain the qualification. However, applicants that have already commenced their apprentice journey will also be considered.

Throughout the 4-year programme support, guidance and direction will be given by the Maintenance Co-ordinator and Engineering Team and you will be expected to become a valuable member of the wider Engineering team undertaking fabrication tasks to maximise to assist plant operations.

Key Competencies:

The ideal candidate will be able to establish positive working connections and communicate well at all levels, which is crucial for collaboration within the engineering team and with coworkers at all levels across the site.

Proficiency with computers and the capacity to quickly learn, navigate, and comprehend new systems and procedures are crucial. It is anticipated that the chosen applicant will possess exceptional multitasking skills, the capacity to take initiative, and a proactive mindset to address issues rationally and successfully.

This position is on-site and usually works Monday through Friday, although flexibility is needed for weekend or after-hours work to accommodate plant downtime.
