The purpose of the post is to assist in driving the €583,000 (Euros) project towards achieving required outputs and the project objective in line with Council priorities.

The project objective is to promote the development and adoption of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, enhancing the efficiency and interconnectedness of community and business operations. This will involve managing capital investment into the development of Comber Community Centre to ensure it is fit for purpose to be used as a Digi Hub. It will also include the procurement and management of delivery, of an IoT solution for the purposes of setting Comber Community Centre up as an exemplar of IoT. Following installation of the IoT solution a contract or contracts will be procured and managed to provide workshops, mentoring and masterclasses to the business community hosted in Comber Community Centre.

It is anticipated that the IoT related activity of the post will result in the collation of data to establish a more effective management of Comber Community Centre.

A project supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body.

Please note
  • This is a part time, temporary post working 14.5 hours per week for up to 2 years and may be extended subject to funding.
  • The hours of work will be 7.25 per day working 2 days preferably Tuesday and Wednesday.
  • Based in signal Centre of Business Excellence in Bangor and Comber Community Centre.
  • A reserve list may be kept from this recruitment exercise.
