Monitoring Platforms Engineer

Your role will be part of global Digital Enterprise Platforms & Security (EP&S) team
As monitoring Platforms Engineer,you will be responsible for delivering day to day support functions for solutions that monitor physical, on-premise, and cloud-based network and compute infrastructure globally. Specific responsibilities include creating and maintaining data algorithms, preforming routine system maintenance functions, responding to incident tickets, identifying opportunities to better address recurring issuesthrough automation
, and updating related support documentation.
In this role, you will also support the monitoring manager and engineer to maintain the product lifecycle from inception through to execution, development, and release. You will partner with engineers, product managers and operations to gather requirements and implement solutions that will provide insights to data enabling data-informed decisions. You can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development using an agile approach.
Support monitoring solutions product lifecycle from inception through to execution, development, and release.
Partner closely with key stakeholders to understand their needs, objectives, and design visualizations to support analysis requirements.
Development, support issues, process issues, bug fixes and delivery of enhancements using an agile approach.
Process incident tickets in accordance with defined support procedures.
Execute defined periodic review functions to ensure services operate as designed
Identify inaccurate support documentation and assist with associated updates.
Suggest improvements in the tools and techniques to help drive efficiency
Point of escalation for contracted resources supporting monitoring capabilities
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 2 years minimum of software development and support experience
- Experience in any of the following: Unix/Linux environments, cloud platforms, networking
- Experience interfacing to systems using vendor provided libraries or open interfaces through API such as REST,
withworking knowledge of JSON and XML
- Experience working with native functions in cloud environments such as AWS
- Familiarity and/or previous experience with Agile (e.g., Scrum
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience managing and developing teams
- High technical aptitude; quickly learns new skills
