Motor Damage and Bodily Injury Claims Handler

Key roles

This position is within the Motor Division and will include both the desk-top administration, investigation, and negotiation of a portfolio of motor claims and the handling of complaints, on behalf of a key motor client. 

Specific responsibilities (including but not limited to)

  • Proactive end to end management of a portfolio of 150+ bodily injury and third party motor damage files with specific closure and quality targets 

  • Previous complaint handling experience would be advantageous together with familiarity of the CPC requirements. 

  • Desktop Liability investigation and determination 

  • Proactive investigation and settlement of claims in expedient and compliant manner 

  • Management of suppliers/vendors 

  • Provide an excellent customer service to our client 

  • Work as part of a team, liaising with the client and other departments 

  • Represent the business in a professional and positive manner at all times 

  • Maintain a positive attitude when faced with challenging circumstances and changing business needs 

  • Be flexible with time and willing to get involved in other areas of the business as requested by management, including travelling to other locations if necessary. 

Qualifications/skills

  • CIP qualification in insurance 

  • Experience handling bodily injury and third party motor damage claims is essential 

  • An excellent understanding of the PIAB and litigation process 

  • Decision making skills and sound numeric skills required 

  • High level interpersonal and communication (verbal/written) skills 

  • Experience working in a dynamic environment 

  • Highly motivated, proactive and with excellent influential skills to influence both internally and externally 

  • Problem solving ability 

  • Client orientated and a willingness to meet and understand the client’s needs 

  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and accuracy 

  • Possess excellent negotiating skills. 

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years bodily injury and third party motor damage claims handling experience essential
