There is currently one specified purpose (until May 2026), whole-time Senior Pharmacist vacancy available in the Pharmacy Department in the Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise.
A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign for a Senior Pharmacist from which current and future, specified purpose vacancies of full-time or part-time duration may be filled.

Purpose of the Post:
To assist and lead on the provision of a comprehensive pharmacy service assisting in the medication management process and promoting the delivery of safe, effective and cost-effective dispensary and clinical pharmacy services. Provides direction and support to fellow staff members regarding safe use of medication.
Eligibility Criteria, Qualifications and / or Experience:
1. Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc.
(a) Candidates must: -
(i) Be a registered Pharmacist with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI) or be entitled to be so registered.
AND
(ii) Have at least three years satisfactory post registration hospital experience.
AND
(iii) Process the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and management ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
2. Health
Candidates for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
3. Character
Candidates for and any person holding the office must be of good character.
