Purpose of the post

The successful candidate will join the Critical Care Physiotherapy team in Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore. This team currently consists of 1 WTE Senior Physiotherapist and is expanding to incorporate additional Critical Care and Acute medical wards capacity.

Candidates must have at the latest date of application:

(a) Candidates for appointment must:

(i) Hold a Physiotherapy qualification recognised by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU. Please see list of acceptable Physiotherapy qualifications:https://coru.ie/files-registration/hse-list-of-physiotherapist-qualifications.pdf

AND

(ii) Be registered on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU.

OR

(iii) Applicants who satisfy the conditions set out in Section 91 of the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005, (see note 1 below*), must submit proof of application for registration with the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU. The acceptable proof is correspondence from the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU confirming their application for registration as a Section 91 applicant.

AND

(iv) Candidates must have three years full time (or an aggregate of three years full time) post qualification clinical experience.

AND

(b) Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and

professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.

Post specific requirements

· Demonstrate breadth & depth of experience in ICU and Critical Care setting.

· Demonstrate breadth & depth of experience in managing patients on & setting up NIV and AIRVO

· Demonstrate depth and breadth of experience of working with respiratory service users in an acute hospital setting.

· Demonstrate breadth & depth of experience in managing chronic respiratory disease
