The salary scale for the post is: 01/03/2025
€63,279 €64,629 €66,021 €67,399 €68,779 €70,231 €71,760 €73,285 €74,509
New appointees to any grade start at the minimum point of the scale. Incremental credit will be applied for recognised relevant service in Ireland and abroad (Department of Health Circular 2/2011). Incremental credit is normally granted on appointment, in respect of previous experience in the Civil Service, Local Authorities, Health Service and other Public Service Bodies and Statutory Agencies.

The Occupational Therapy Department MUH:
The Occupational Therapy team consists of a total of 13 members: 1 Occupational Therapist Manager, 1 Clinical Specialist, 7 Senior OTs, 3 x Staff Grade OTs and 1 OT Assistant based across two sites in Castlebar: MUH and St John’s Unit;
MUH is a practice Education site for NUIG undergraduate, UL post graduate and Dublin Trinity students primarily.
Services covered:
-General Medicine (MUH & St John’s)
-Older People Services are provided by Home First (Emergency Medicine/AMAU/ Unscheduled care) and the Older Persons Assessment Liaison services –OPAL
-Acute Stroke
-General Surgery including ICU/CCU
-Orthopaedics (Trauma & Elective).
Depending of the post(s) on offer, the Senior clinician appointed may work with the Medical in-patients in MUH or in St John’s Unit, Castlebar.
(S)he will aim to provide client centred OT interventions to enable participation and engagement in activities of daily living during and after discharge. This will be achieved by engaging the users of the service in the occupational task(s) that they want to, need to or are expected to do or by modifying the occupation or the environment to better support their occupational engagement.
Safety, quality of experience and discharge planning and will be the key priorities of any the therapeutic interventions provided
