New Graduate Staff Nurse

Location of Post:

Naas General Hospital, Naas, Co. Kildare

A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign and will be used to fill permanent vacancies for a New Graduate Nurse– Staff Grade that may arise in each hospital site.

Purpose of the Post:

The New Graduate Staff Nurse will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care to the highest professional and ethical standards within the model of nursing care practiced in the relevant care setting. The staff nurse will provide holistic, person centred care, promoting optimum independence and enhancing the quality of life for service users.

Eligibility Criteria, Qualifications and / or Experience:

Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition:

1.Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc

(Academic / Professional Qualifications and / or relevant experience

  • Must be a current 4th year nursing degree student undergoing the 36 week clinical placement or recently completed same.

AND

  • Have successfully completed the clinical and academic requirements of their BSc (Honours) Degree in General Nursing by September 2024 and who will be eligible for registration thereafter with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).

OR

· Have successfully completed the clinical and academic requirements of their BSc (Honours) Degree in General Nursing and who are currently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).

AND

Have the clinical and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role

Note: Post holders must maintain annual registration with Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann (Nursing Midwifery Board Ireland)

3. Health

Candidates for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.

4. Character

Candidates for, and any person holding the office, must be of good character.
