The Role

Our highly skilled teams specialise in the manufacture and packaging of commercial drug products, supported by end‑to‑end supply chain management and bespoke client services. We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our Packaging Operations team in the role of NPI Project Manager.
The NPI Project Group coordinates all aspects of customer projects throughout the new product introduction (NPI) phase, before transitioning products into routine supply with the Client Management team. As NPI Project Manager, you will coordinate and lead multiple complex projects from initiation through to completion, acting as the key point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders.
You will be responsible for the successful delivery of key milestones across a portfolio of projects, ensuring scope, timelines, cost, quality and GMP compliance are achieved. Working closely with Packaging Operations, Quality, Business Development and Client Management teams, you will lead cross‑functional project teams to deliver an exceptional client experience while supporting Almac Pharma Services’ strategic objectives.
Key areas of focus will include Client Experience, Project Management, Management & Leadership, and Cost Management. This role supports all Almac Pharma Services packaging sites and may require flexibility to provide cover outside of normal working hours where required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple NPI projects from initiation through to transfer into routine supply
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring excellent communication and client experience throughout the project lifecycle
- Develop, maintain and deliver comprehensive project plans aligned to agreed scope, time and cost
- Chair and participate in internal and external project meetings, ensuring accurate documentation and timely follow‑up of actions
- Manage project risks, scope changes, timelines and costs, escalating where required
- Lead and influence cross‑functional teams to achieve project milestones and resolve complex challenges
- Ensure all project activities comply with GMP requirements and the Quality Management System
- Manage revenue budgets, project cost tracking, client billings, quotations and purchase order status
- Support identification and development of business opportunities within Pharma Services
- Drive continual improvement of project management processes, tools and best practice
Key Requirements
- GCSE Grade C or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent level qualification)
- Proven project management experience within the Pharmaceutical industry or another regulated environment
- Previous experience of managing budgets and revenue streams
- Knowledge of GMP within drug product manufacturing and/or packaging environments
Desirable:
- Degree in Science, Engineering or Business‑related discipline
- Formal Project Management qualification (PRINCE2, PMP or similar)
- Experience managing pharmaceutical product supply or packaging projects
- Experience using Microsoft Project
