Essential Qualifications and Skills

Candidates must:

  • Have the requisite knowledge, skills, and competencies to carry out the role to a high standard
  • Be capable and competent of fulfilling the role to a high standard
  • Have obtained at least Grade O6 (formerly D3) in five subjects in the Leaving Certificate Examination (Higher, Ordinary, Applied, or Vocational Programmes), or equivalent
  • Have passed an examination at the appropriate level within the QQI Qualifications Framework which can be assessed as comparable to Leaving Certificate standard or higher
  • Or have appropriate relevant experience which encompasses equivalent skills and expertise

Desirable Qualifications and Skills

Desirable Qualifications:

  • A Level 8 degree in a relevant discipline
  • A qualification that includes project management

Desirable Experience:

  • 3 years’ relevant work experience
  • Experience with PEACEPLUS, European Union-funded, or cross-border programmes
  • Familiarity with:

  • Experience supporting both research-based and policy-focused projects

Overview of the Role

The North South Education, Skills and Training: Empowering Economic Mobility (North South ESTEEM) is a 39-month cross-border initiative (2025–2029) funded by PEACEPLUS under Investment Area 6.1.

The project is led by Atlantic Technological University in partnership with:

  • Ulster University
  • North West Regional College
  • Donegal ETB
  • Centre for Cross Border Cooperation (CCBC)

The project aims to:

  • Expand student mobility
  • Improve employment skills portability
  • Address systemic barriers arising from differing education, qualification, and regulatory systems across the island

The NS ESTEEM Administrator will play a key role in supporting Atlantic Technological University to achieve its cross-border engagement objectives and will be central to supporting the delivery of the PEACEPLUS-funded NS ESTEEM project.

Duties

Project Administration & Coordination

  • Support Atlantic Technological University’s cross-border engagement activities under the Vice President for Cross-border Engagement and specifically on the PEACEPLUS-funded NS ESTEEM project
  • Act as the central administrative point of contact for the project across all five partners:
  • Coordinate:
  • Maintain all NS ESTEEM project documentation, correspondence, records, action logs, and compliance evidence in accordance with PEACEPLUS audit standards
  • Support preparation of:
  • Liaise with:

Financial Administration & Compliance

  • Support the NS ESTEEM Programme Manager and Atlantic Technological University Finance Office in:
  • Assist with:
  • Coordinate with the External Financial Controller and assist in preparing documentation for internal and external audits

Monitoring, Reporting & Evaluation

  • Collect monthly activity updates from partners and assist with progress reporting to:
  • Maintain:
  • Support preparations for:

Communications & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work with the NS ESTEEM Project Lead to coordinate project communications, including:
  • Assist with organising project events such as:
  • Support engagement with:

Support Delivery of Work Packages

Provide administrative, coordination, and logistical support to:

  • WP1: Student SPACE
  • WP2: Work SPACE
  • WP3: ESTEEM Strategy

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in collecting data
  • Arranging interviews
  • Coordinating workshops
  • Supporting documentation for pilot initiatives

Salary

Salary Scale:

€57,897 - €70,733

Candidates external to the sector may be appointed up to the 3rd point (€60,959) of the salary scale in accordance with University policy.

Hours of Work

  • 35 hours per week
