The National Screening Service (NSS) delivers four national population-based screening programmes – for cervical, breast and bowel screening and for detecting sight-threatening retinopathy in people with diabetes.

  • ensure that anyone who does develop the disease being screened for has the best chance of early, more effective treatment

About the role:

The GVII Register Manager will be responsible for leading and managing an effective register function across the BreastCheck programme to include line management responsibility for the AIRE Support team. AIRE is the BreastCheck clinical and administrative system. The GVII Register Manager plays a crucial role in managing day-to-day operations on AIRE, adherence to policies, leading service improvement and implementing changes in line with operational objectives. The post holder will:

  • Deliver strong leadership and operational performance standards
  • Support the BreastCheck Programme by ensuring an accurate population register is maintained with the AIRE Support team.
  • Review, identify & implement the most efficient & effective AIRE system processes

Responsibilities:

The position of GVII Register Manager encompasses both managerial and administrative responsibilities which include the following:

Administration and Operations

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operational co-ordination, planning and monitoring of the BreastCheck register.
  • Provide leadership to the AIRE support team and BreastCheck operational teams regarding User Acceptance Testing (UAT), change request control and development in respect of the BreastCheck AIRE software system.
  • Oversee the processing of monthly uploads from the Department of Social Protection ensuring that data is cleansed/reviewed for register uploads whilst ensuring the safe and efficient ongoing implementation of IHI within the BreastCheck register
  • Oversee the processing of daily/weekly self-registration records across the programme and bring any records, trends, or issues to the attention of the relevant stakeholders where necessary.
  • Produce reports on duplicate records and provide continuous feedback on all processes within the AIRE system. Ensure that detailed checks are carried out using all available tools such as Single Client View to provide further information/advice to Operational Unit staff on duplicate management.
  • Oversee the process of BreastCheck An Post Returns within AIRE and ensure follow up action such as phone contact where possible is taken on returns to maintain accuracy of database information
  • Maintain and update BreastCheck centralised work instructions for the BreastCheck register and participate in work instruction reviews across the programme as required.
  • Continuous liaison with the NSS Information Governance Team with regards the integrity of client data contained in the BreastCheck Register.

This campaign is confined to staff who are currently employed by the HSE, TUSLA, other statutory health agencies*, or a body which provides services on behalf of the HSE under Section 38 of the Health Act 2004 as per Workplace Relations Commission agreement -161867

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

Have two years satisfactory experience in an office under the HSE, TUSLA, other statutory health agencies, or a body which provides services on behalf of the HSE under Section 38 of the Health Act 2004 at a level not lower than that of Grade IV (or equivalent).

And

Have not less than two years satisfactory experience either in that office or in an office at a level not lower than that of Clerical Officer in the HSE, TUSLA, other statutory health agencies, or a body which provides services on behalf of the HSE under Section 38 of the Health Act 2004.

And

Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability, including a high standard of suitability, for the proper discharge of the office.
