Killarney Rehabilitation unit is a 35 bed unit consisting of 31 rehabilitation beds, 2 palliative beds and 2 respite beds. The Rehabilitation unit has a bespoke therapy unit adjacent to the in-patient unit which includes a physiotherapy gym and a joint occupational therapy and speech and language therapy treatment room and kitchen. Patients that meet the defined admission criteria for the Rehabilitation unit are admitted for specified length of rehabilitation interventions, which is team and patient agreed. Patients participate in multidisciplinary rehabilitation interventions from a team consisting of the following disciplines: occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, dietitian, nursing, doctors.
