Occupational Therapist, Senior, University Hospital
The successful candidate will join the team of Occupational Therapists working with the Occupational Therapy Department, University Hospital Kerry. This service provides occupational therapy interventions across many of the specialities of the hospital including Specialist Palliative Care, Older Persons, Stroke Rehabilitation, Orthopaedics, Older Persons’ management, General Surgery, Geriatric Emergency Multidisciplinary Service (GEMS), Pathfinder Service, Cardiology Service and out-reach to the Tralee Community Nursing Unit.
The OT Department is closely linked with the Kerry Integrated Care of the Older Person (ICPOP) service and provides professional governance to the occupational therapists working in this area, as well as the Older Persons Rehabilitation Service in Killarney.
The successful candidate will join the Pathfinder team in UHK, which is a joint initiative between UHK and the National Ambulance Service (NAS).
The post holder, as and when may be required, will receive support from the Occupational Therapy staff within the department, UHK. Conversely, the post holder may, from time to time, be required to provide support to the other Occupational Therapy services, under the umbrella of UHK, as designated by the Occupational Therapist Manager.
The OTs working in Pathfinder have a close working relationship with the GEMS service in UHK, Kerry ICPOP services, Emergency Department Services in UHK & Older Persons services in Kerry.
The potential opportunity of rotation to GEMS or Kerry ICPOP may arise in the future.
