Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy Assistant- Adult Services

This recruitment process is to fill a full-time permanent Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy Assistant post in St. Michael’s House Adult Services. The position will be working with adults with an intellectual disability and complex needs. The post will be based in St. Michael’s House Coolock and/or Ballymun Clinics, but will involve service provision across Adult Services in St. Michael’s House - North (Ballymun), North-East (Coolock) and South Regions (Goatstown). Supervision will be available from experienced Occupational Therapists and/or Physiotherapists and Line Management will be under the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy Managers. The successful candidate will have the following:
Essential Criteria:
· Possess a QQI Level 5 major award in a relevant qualification i.e. Physiotherapy Assistant, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Therapy Assistant or equivalent health services skills on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ)
· Candidates must have the personal competence and capacity to properly discharge the duties of the role
Desirable Criteria:
· Previous experience working as a Physiotherapy and/or Occupational Therapy Assistant
· Experience working within adult intellectual disability services or other relevant fields
· Experience working as part of a team
· Have excellent communication and team working skills
· Have excellent time management skills and the ability to work in a self-directed manner
· Full clean driver licence and use of a car
