Candidates must have at the latest date of application:

· Be able to demonstrate evidence of a significant track record in leading and implementing service improvement within a health system

· Have experience, ideally in the speciality area (Chronic Disease, Respiratory, Cardiovascular Disease and Diabetes in particular)

· Demonstrate evidence of continuing progressional development at the appropriate level.

· Experience of interacting with multiple internal and external stakeholders as relevant to the role

· Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and organising ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.

Health

A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.

Character

Each candidate for and any person holding the office must be of good character.

Post specific requirements:

- Significant knowledge of current issues and experience of working with people with Chronic Disease with a track record of leading on service improvement.

- Ability to self-manage and identify and work with key partners in the implementation of the ICPCD

- Understand the challenges of leading a complex change programme with significant technology and process change, interdependencies and HR challenges.

- Candidates must be able to demonstrate significant experience of managing teams.
