Operations Manager

The Operations Manager (Inventory) is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, security, and availability of inventory within the Micro Fulfilment Centre. The role partners closely with customer and internal teams to maintain strong inventory control, support service levels, minimise loss, and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate inventory across WMS, automation, and supporting systems
  • Conduct cycle counts, stock reconciliations, and audits to ensure high accuracy
  • Investigate discrepancies, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
  • Track all inventory movements (inbound, outbound, internal) for accuracy and traceability
  • Ensure correct storage, labelling, stock rotation, and handling practices
  • Monitor inventory availability and proactively manage stock risks
  • Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and customer teams to resolve issues and improve flow
  • Act as primary inventory contact for the customer, supporting reporting and reviews
  • Maintain and enhance inventory control processes, procedures, and best practices
  • Analyse inventory data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
  • Monitor stock loss, shrinkage, and security incidents
  • Support reconciliation, exception management, and returns processing
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, H&S, quality, and audit standards
  • Support product onboarding and master data accuracy
  • Produce inventory reports, KPIs, and performance insights
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Own key inventory KPIs (accuracy, loss, availability, compliance)

Requirements

  • Proven experience in inventory management within warehouse, e-commerce, retail, or automated environments
  • Strong knowledge of inventory processes (receiving, storage, replenishment, counting, reconciliation)
  • Experience with audits, cycle counts, and root cause analysis
  • Hands-on experience with WMS, ERP, and inventory systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
  • Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, reporting)
  • Experience producing KPIs and performance reports
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • High attention to detail and focus on continuous improvement
  • Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
  • Flexibility to support peak operational demands
