- Can you provide deep Oracle Database technical expertise? This includes:
• Taking ownership of complex projects and problem resolution for our Oracle Database estate.
• Performance analysis and tuning and supporting Application Development through-out project change lifecycle.
• Support ongoing patching, upgrades and maintenance activities, Oracle security initiatives
What is the Role:
This role as an Oracle Database Engineer involves providing technical expertise for the support of the Oracle Database estate and Exadata Engineered Systems that are managed by the Database team within the Enterprise Delivery organisation in AIB.
This includes supporting and taking ownership of complex incident escalation from within the Oracle Database team, performance analysis and tuning, Application Development support through-out project change lifecycle, support ongoing patching, upgrades and maintenance activities, Oracle security initiatives, Oracle Backup and Recovery management.
The broader Database team also supports other Database technologies MS SQL Server, Db2 zOS, Db2 LUW and IMS.
Key accountabilities:
- Support the Oracle element of Application Change projects through-out the project life cycle, including Oracle Database solution design.
- Expert performance analysis and tuning of the Oracle Database environments.
- Provide Oracle Database support including out-of-hours and on-call support.
- Demonstrate expertise in the following: Oracle 19c, Oracle 23AI, RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, RA, Exadata.
- Support currency activities for the Oracle estate including patching and upgrades.
- Drive and implement automation of Oracle Database procedures.
What you Will Bring:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
- At least 10 years’ experience in Oracle Database Engineering
- Expert knowledge of the following: Oracle 19c, Oracle 23AI, Exadata, RAC, Oracle Data Guard, RMAN, Recovery Appliance
- Expert level of Oracle performance tuning capability
- Excellent collaboration skills and a willingness to train/coach other team members
