Outdoor Spaces Manager

To assist the Head of Department in the maintenance of high-quality, safe parks and open spaces. To strategically and operationally maintain and develop locations in a sustainable manner in line with Council’s policies and procedures including:
Parks Development
Playing fields and other outdoor sport/leisure facilities
Playgrounds
Parks and open spaces.
Public toilets
Cemetery
Volunteering
To ensure continuous improvement to deliver a high-quality service to meet the needs of customers/users, adopting an innovative business planning approach underpinned by best practice.
The post holder will support transformational change within the Service, ensuring and implementing integration of service functions and responsibilities. They will be responsible for the management and delivery of a high-quality, flexible maintenance, development service to meet the needs of customers/users in line with best practice and will be required to maximise business development potential.
The post holder will be expected to make a significant contribution to the strategic vision, direction, development and management of the Department including setting and achieving key outcomes and targets, as well as ensuring an outward-facing and future focus to the work of the Department, ensuring the service area delivers on the Council’s Community Plan and CSP Agenda
The post holder will be required to work collaboratively and proactively to foster and sustain effective relationships and partnerships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including other officers, elected members, outside bodies and local citizens to advance the Corporate and Departmental agendas.
