Packaging & Labelling Coordinator

Purpose of the role

The successful candidate will work in conjunction with the Packaging CoE and buying teams (men’s, ladies and kid’s apparel, accessories, and footwear) to ensure that all packaging needs are executed effectively, project managed through to delivery, ensuring they are on brand, accurate, relevant and compliant.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the buying teams at product development stage on the style of packaging ensuring that it is specific for each product.
  • Advising technical solutions on updating current packaging formats working with the packaging technologist team.
  • Manage and develop all hanger, packaging & labelling manual guidelines ensuring all details are up to date and accurate for B&M teams, product and packaging suppliers to use.
  • Work with buying teams on continuous improvement of packaging for new or existing product categories following the CoE’s processes, ensuring the Buying team are fully supported in a timely manner.
  • Working in closely with Packaging CoE team members and sustainability team to ensure our packaging is as sustainable as possible.
  • Ensuring packaging claims have been signed off within CoE including any legal trademark names have been sense checked.
  • Working closely with the brand artwork team to brief new packaging concepts and designs following briefs from stakeholders.
  • Work cross functionally and across the supplier base on specific projects including; hangers samples, sizers and guidelines for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Working with Packaging CoE team members to deliver fashion collections with same packaging across several suppliers, including colour matching, quality matching and ensuring that it sits aligned to brand guidelines.
  • Work cross functionally with legal, QA and compliance teams to ensure all packaging is legally compliant and is appropriately placed on the packaging for all markets.
  • Continually working to ensure that we use the smartest approach to packaging, including removing excess packaging where possible with our sustainability guidelines at the fore front.
  • Ensuring there is consistency of packaging quality across our supply base and ranges.
  • Be an active member of the packaging CoE to support execution of the packaging strategy in order to meet corporate targets.

Experience

Required

  • Experience working in a similar packaging role in the retail industry
  • Experience in the management of artwork management from briefing, review and approvals
  • Ability to work in teams in a matrix environment and drive change through effective influencing
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and responding to tasks with an efficient, can-do attitude
  • Energetic and driven individual with a record of driving collaboration, communication and innovation

Desired

  • Experience of the buying process and NPD
  • Experience of packaging regulations
  • Experience of managing the translations business process in multiple languages
  • Direct experience in packaging in toys, tech or stationary areas is an advantage
