Patient and Service User Engagement Officer Grade VI
· 1.0WTE (35 hours)
· Temporary Specified Purpose (approx. 24 months)
· Board of Directors funded
· Based in Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services, Harold’s Cross, Blackrock & Wicklow
The purpose of this post:
· To scope and advise on patient advice, advocacy and liaison across OLH&CS
· existing service user engagement structures.
· To work under the direction of the QPS Lead.
· To help develop a future model for Patient & Service User Engagement across all OLH&CS and sites.
· embed a partnership approach to the design and delivery of care at OLH&CS
· To supervise staff within own remit.
· Demonstrate the principles of partnership when networking and liaising with other HSE PSUEs in the local region.
Essential Requirements
Qualifications:
· Hold a relevant third level education of at least level 7 on the National Qualification framework maintained by Qualification and quality Ireland (QQI)
Experience:
· Candidates must have recent healthcare experience in the last five years
· Candidates must show a proven track record and competence in the support and development of projects and initiatives that
promote patient and service user engagement and feedback in the provision of health and social care services.
· Candidates must have experience of working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders including a knowledge of
quality assurance and best practice within statutory and organisational settings as relevant to the role.
· Possess the requisite knowledge and ability, including a high standard of suitability, for the proper discharge of the role.
· Experience of engaging with patients, service users and families in the area of customer service, complaints management, patient
safety incidents, co-design, advocacy or engagement.
· Experience of working in a busy environment which has involved interacting in a professional manner with senior management and
other key internal and external stakeholders.
· Significant experience of professional writing including the generation of documents such as letters, reports, business case
documentation etc.
· Digital skills- Competent IT skills including proficiency with Microsoft package, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel
· Be available to work from all OLH&CS sites
Desirable Requirements
Experience:
· Have experience of group facilitation or similar engagement process with service users, family members/carers and supporters
· Candidates should have experience of engaging with patients, service users and family’s in the area of customer service,
complaints management, patient safety incidents, co-design, advocacy or engagement.
· Experience using PAS
