Pavilion Attendant
KEY PURPOSE
Responsible for the care taking, flushing, cleaning, housekeeping, preparation and general safety of facilities.
Undertake pitch steward duties for bookings as required.
Although based at Council office, Derry Road, there will be a requirement to work and travel to other Leisure and Sports facilities as and when required to undertake duties such as pitches and pavilions, in line with the needs of the service.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Act as key holder for designated pitch/pavilion sites; ensure site is accessible for bookings in a timely manner.
2. Carry out flushing duties of the facilities; ensuring that the heating programmer is at the correct setting and hot water reaches the appropriate temperature level; check gas and oil levels.
3. Carry out routine inspection and monitoring checks of the facilities and equipment; document and report faults for non-compliance as required.
4. Ensure the highest possible standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained by carrying out routine caretaking and cleaning tasks as required; ensure the correct storage of cleaning products.
5. Carry out regular housekeeping duties including litter picking, tidying of surrounding areas, and basic low-level maintenance as required.
6. Ensure full pitch set up to include: putting up and securing nets; setting out corner flags; setting out dug outs if available on site.
7. Conduct a dynamic risk assessment of the playing area; check and make pitch safe from foreign objects, dog dirt &/or holes.
8. Ensuring all activity is signed off and submitted to the line manager.
9. Participate in and ensure compliance with all Council policies and procedures and operate within the highest standards of personal behaviour which reflect the core values of the organisation.
10. Ensure full compliance with Health and Safety requirements and legislation in accordance with Council’s Policies and Procedures.
11. Comply with and actively promote the Council’s policies and procedures on all aspects of equality.
12. Undertake any other duties appropriate to scale, which may be required from time to time.
The Council therefore reserves the right to change the duties of the post by adding to or amending the range of responsibilities. The postholder will be required to be flexible and adaptable to meet the changing needs and requirements of the organisation.
Qualifications/Experience
Two year’s demonstrable experience in each of the following:
· Opening and closing a facility
· General cleaning and housekeeping duties
· Set up and dismantling equipment
· Dealing with the public
Technical Competencies/Knowledge
Working Knowledge and application of Health and Safety including inspection and monitoring
Other
Must have access to a form of transport to carry out the duties of the post
