We are seeking a Payroll Coordinator to manage day‑to‑day payroll operations across assigned countries during a temporary assignment (initial contract of 4 to 6 months). In this role, you will ensure timely, accurate, and compliant payroll processing while supporting business initiatives that enable our growing global workforce.

The Payroll Coordinator will report directly to a Payroll Manager within Itron’s Global Business Services organization based in Cork, Ireland.

Role & Responsibilities:
  • Manage end to end payroll processing for assigned countries in partnership with external providers, including preparation, review, and reconciliation of payroll inputs and reports each pay period to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain payroll calendars, checklists and standard operating procedures across all assigned entities.
  • Deliver monthly and annual payroll statutory obligations, ensuring timely and accurate payroll tax remittances, social security contributions, and other required filings for assigned countries.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for payroll inquiries, resolving employee questions in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support special projects and ad hoc initiatives, including expansion, compliance, and operational efficiency efforts as the company continues to scale internationally.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to resolve payroll related issues and ensure compliance with local regulations.
  • Maintain up to date expertise on international payroll laws, regulations, and industry best practices.

Education and/or Experience:
  • Third Level Education, equivalent or above.
  • Proven experience in a global payroll environment.
  • A first significant payroll experience, ideally across multiple countries.
  • Strong understanding of statutory deductions, tax rates, social security requirements, and benefits regulations in multiple countries.
  • Experience working with global payroll service providers and managing relationships with external vendors.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Fluent English. Any additional language will be an advantage.
