Payroll Officer

At our C&D Foods site in Edgeworthstown we are currently seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Payroll Officer. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Payroll Officer will work within a team and will share responsibility of end-to-end processing of the payroll function.
Role Overview
The Payroll Officer is responsible for supporting the accurate and timely processing of payroll while ensuring compliance with Revenue regulations and company policies. The role involves maintaining payroll records, processing payroll changes, preparing reports, responding to employee queries, and managing payroll-related documentation. Working closely with the Payroll, Finance, and HR teams, the Payroll Officer ensures payroll is delivered accurately, confidentially, and within strict deadlines while providing excellent support to employees and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparation and processing of weekly payroll.
- Prepare payroll analysis reports.
- Ensure all payroll data is entered accurately and in a timely manner including new hires, terminations, tax changes and other payroll related information.
- Respond to employee’s payroll enquiries.
- Issuing of pay slips, payroll related taxation, social welfare documents and other documentation.
- Filing monthly returns with Revenue to ensure that all employer obligations are managed in accordance with Revenue guidelines via ROS.
- Calculating holiday and sick pay and dealing with any queries regarding same.
- Updating new joiners/leavers on payroll.
- Liaising with Employment agencies on a weekly basis in relation to temporary staff to include weekly hours, holidays and sick pay.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive material and information.
- Other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Personal Competencies and Qualifications
- 1-3 years Payroll Experience desirable
- Experience working with Sage Payroll Software desirable
- A distinct ability to manage time effectively in order to meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to work on own initiative and successfully prioritise workload.
- Strong written and communication skills that allow you to inform and advise others clearly.
- Interpersonal skills that enable you to work with people at all levels.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to balance immediate and long-term priorities.
