The Opportunity:

As an experienced Payroll Specialist you will be a key member of our Finance department here at Activ8. You will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for all our Activ8 employees.

Responsibilities includes:

  • Process both weekly and monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Maintain payroll records, including employee wages, deductions, bonuses, and tax information.
  • Handle payroll queries and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws, labour regulations, and company policies.
  • Coordinate with HR and Finance departments to manage employee benefits, pensions, and payroll adjustments.
  • Generate payroll reports and assist with audits when required.
  • Stay up to date with changes in payroll legislation and industry best practices.

Qualifications/Key Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role – minimum 5 years experience.
  • You will be IPASS Qualified or hold equivalent qualification
  • Fully proficient with payroll software and systems.
  • Understanding of up to date tax regulations, pension schemes, and labour laws.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • You will have a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines
  • Knowledge of UK payroll advantageous
