The Opportunity:
As an experienced Payroll Specialist you will be a key member of our Finance department here at Activ8. You will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for all our Activ8 employees.
Responsibilities includes:
- Process both weekly and monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Maintain payroll records, including employee wages, deductions, bonuses, and tax information.
- Handle payroll queries and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws, labour regulations, and company policies.
- Coordinate with HR and Finance departments to manage employee benefits, pensions, and payroll adjustments.
- Generate payroll reports and assist with audits when required.
- Stay up to date with changes in payroll legislation and industry best practices.
Qualifications/Key Skills:
- Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role – minimum 5 years experience.
- You will be IPASS Qualified or hold equivalent qualification
- Fully proficient with payroll software and systems.
- Understanding of up to date tax regulations, pension schemes, and labour laws.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- You will have a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel
- Ability to work to strict deadlines
- Knowledge of UK payroll advantageous
