About Post Consult International (PCI)

PCI is a wholly owned subsidiary of An Post, providing specialist IT Strategy, Management and Development services across every aspect of An Post IT infrastructure. Alongside An Post IT staff, they collectively form the internal IT function known as Group Technology Services (GTS).

Role Purpose

You'll be part of a high-performance team, maximising digital expertise to excel and grow your career, delivering quality on project(s) and deliverables at a fast pace.

You'll have the responsibility of leading tester(s) and test teams through the process of reviewing and implementing new methodologies and tools throughout the project(s). In addition, you will provide mentoring, guidance, and direction to the QA testing team, analysts and other team members, fostering a culture of excellence, inspiring others to propose innovative solutions for team enhancement. 

This is an evolving and developing lead role and may change over time. Initially, this role will have an emphasis on a Digital Domains, Products, Services with respect to QA deliverables.

Responsibilities

The principal responsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead and coordinate all digital testing initiatives, ensuring the integration of new methodologies and tools.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address quality assurance challenges throughout the development lifecycle and promptly report issues to management that could potentially impact major deadlines.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive test plans to ensure the functionality, usability, performance and security of digital products.

  • Prepare, implement and document test cases based on Business and Functional Requirements to ensure thorough testing of requirements in a fast-paced environment.

  • Work with stakeholders to verify and prioritise business requirements and lead a QA Team, providing high quality advice and QA deliverables.

  • Work closely with the Business Analysts, SME’s, Product owners, Technical Architects and Developers and be able to interpret business requirements into functional requirements.

  • Ensure strict adherence to the approved scope of a design iteration, seeking authorization from stakeholders for any vital variations.

  • Thoroughly review test cases authored by colleagues to guarantee comprehensive coverage of all requirements in the documentation as well as Confirmation Testing of resolved bugs to validate their correction.

  • Champion a customer-focused mind-set and maintain a keen eye for detail when assessing applications under test and infuse a quality-centric approach into product releases.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will preferably have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with proven experience as a Test Lead\Digital Test lead or similar role. You will have 3 or more years’ experience testing across a variety of environments and industries with in-depth knowledge of testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.

You’ll have excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt style based on your audience. You should have experience with scoping and creating functional and non-functional test plans, test data, maintenance of the integrity of the test environment as well as test estimation and test planning experience.

Relevant certifications such as ISTQB are a plus.
