PERSONAL ASSISTANT NEEDED
Job Description:
The ÁT Network are recruiting for a part-time Personal Assistant to assist a young woman with a disability to live a full and independent life as possible.
A Personal Assistant is required to assist a young woman with an intellectual disability both in her home and in the local community, attending different social events and activities. The successful candidate will receive training and development in line with the role. This role would suit an enthusiastic and dedicated individual who is committed to providing care and supporting someone to live an independent life within their community.

Location: Stradbally, Laois
Hours: 10 hours per week (Friday and Saturday) with potential for relief cover Monday - Thursday.
Pay: €17 per hour
Duties and Responsibilities
- Providing direct support and facilitating a positive environment.
- Developing and maintaining effective communication with the family and other PA’s.
- To establish a positive and supportive relationship with the individual.
- Assist the person with disabilities in achieving their potential by listening and guiding by providing practical and emotional support.
- Assist and accompany on social outings.
- Personal Care duties.
- Meal preparation and cooking.
- Providing support to the individual with daily activities within home and in the community.
Essential Requirements
- A background in social care or health care. Either a qualification or relevant experience.
- Knowledge and experience working with people with intellectual disabilities.
- An understanding of disability and Independent Living.
- Full clean driving licence.
- Legally permitted to work in Ireland.
