Personal Assistant / Healthcare Assistant

Personal Assistant required to assist a physically disabled woman to live an active, independent life.

Please note: This is not a medical role.

An Independent Living Personal Assistant is an individual who works with a disabled person to enable him/her to have maximum freedom, choice, and control over his/her human support needs.

Hours of Work:

Two weekends each month / ALTERNATE WEEKENDS

Sleepovers:

6pm Saturday - 8am Monday (with breaks) 35 hours per shift approx.

JOB SHARE POSITION

Location: City Centre

·The successful candidate must be eligible to work in Ireland.

·This role may suit mature students with an interest in social care & equality & human rights.

·The successful candidate will be employed directly by Eileen Daly Independent Living CLG

·No previous experience necessary, full training will be provided.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assistance and support with personal hygiene and grooming
• Assistance with cooking and domestic chores
• Driving adapted van – applicant must have a full, clean licence and be 25 years+ for insurance purposes - THIS IS AN ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENT
• Accompaniment on social outings when required
• Any other duties which facilitate me to live an active life and participate fully in my community.

Willingness and ability to take instructions and direction from a disabled person

·To be discreet while maintaining and respecting confidentiality at all times.

To be competent & discreet in professional and social environments.

To have clean personal habits.

A flexible approach to your work is required.

Other Information

Remuneration: Will be discussed at interview – competitive wage guaranteed.

Commencement date: Immediate (subject to Garda Vetting & reference checks)
