Personal Assistant

Michaela is a 32 year old wheelchair user living independently in the community. She works part time in the charity sector on disability issues. Her team of Personal Assistants enable her to live her life to the fullest.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a close knit team of Personal Assistants working with a physically disabled woman in her early 30s!

THE JOB AVAILABLE

There are 2 roles available, owing to some staff moving into further education and reducing their hours, and maternity leave

Day shifts will include working on a Wednesday and Thursday from 8 am - 5 pm, but with the option of extending until 9 pm, or picking up an evening shift on an alternative day.

Night shifts will include working on Saturday and Sunday nights from 11pm - 7 am, with the option of picking up 2 Friday nights per month. Night shifts are also a maternity leave cover with the contract expected to run until October 31, 2023.

No experience is necessary as training will be given to support you. All staff work in pairs to enable you to complete the duties.

Duties on all shifts will include light housework to keep the environment clean, assisting with dressing, undressing, toileting, getting into or out of bed and turning in bed. This includes the use of a hoist.

Monitoring overnight is required so night shifts are waking nights.

JOB BENEFITS

Due to the time of year, the option of immediate start or commencing work on January 2, 2023 is available.

Pay is competitive at £12.75 per hour. The team is paid 4 weekly. Pension contributions are also paid by the employer where applicable. 5.6 weeks of holiday are included each year, and you will accrue extra annual leave for any extra shifts worked. We are a small team so we can be flexible to the needs of each of us.

The Night Shift is currently a fixed term contract, finishing on 31 October 2023. However, this is subject to the return date of the person taking Maternity Leave.
