Personal Assistant to Support Independent Living

Áiseanna Tacaíochta (ÁT Network) is a non-profit organisation, providing leadership and support to empower people with disabilities to live with the independence, choice and freedom they are entitled to. Ours is an innovative and progressive approach.  We work right across disability; we support both self-directed and family-led services.

Hours: 20 hours per week

Location: Lucan

Salary: Very competitive rates. Premium rates for Sunday work. Opportunities for pay progression and ongoing training and development.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with preparation of cooking meals
  • Personal care to be provided with dignity and respect of privacy
  • Light general domestic duties, washing ironing and hovering the kitchen floor.
  • Assist with any other tasks that may be required including writing letters filling out forms etc.
  • Attending events social activities

Position Characteristics:

  • An understanding of disability and the Independent Living movement
  • Ability to be pay close attention to detail and follow instruction fluency in English essential
  • Trustworthiness – aware of the importance of confidentiality
  • Patience, sense of humour and positive thinking would be a distinct advantage
  • Ability to think outside of the box
  • Some evening, antisocial and weekend hours will be required
  • Driving license an advantage but not essential.
  • Must be able to work in Ireland
  • Must have a good knowledge of food hygiene / hygiene

Qualifications

  • FETAC Level 5 in Health Care or equivalent training or experience
  • Manual handling experience / qualification essential
  • Must be available to attend mandatory training sessions
