Contract: Part-time (15-25 hours per week)

GLO Network is now recruiting a Personal Development Assistant to provide an active young man with disabilities the support required to empower him to be happy, fulfilled, and independent.
GLO Network is a person centred support network. Its key mission is to support Stephen, a young disabled man, to live an active and fulfilling life rooted in his community. We work as a small, dedicated team to support Stephen to lead decisions around his life through meaningful relationships, community involvement and opportunities that reflect his interests and strengths. GLO Network is HSE funded and affiliated with Áiseanna Tacaíochta (ÁT Network, a non-profit organisation that supports people with disabilities to have greater control, choice and freedom in their lives, ensuring a more inclusive and progressive future for all.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our innovative, supportive, and committed team of Personal Development Assistants here in Annacotty. We will provide you with the support you need to succeed in this unique and rewarding line of work. We also work in partnership with all team members to ensure balanced, flexible working hours. This position is ideal for those who are looking for something new, who are comfortable working on their own initiative and who believe in opportunities for all people to be active citizens in their own community.
Essential criteria:
● QQI level 5 qualification in relevant field minimum
● Preferred; 2-3 years experience working in the field of community, health and/or social care
● Full driver’s licence and own vehicle
● Clear verbal and written communication skills
● Enthusiasm and resilience
● Social energy and empathy to relate well with others
● Person-centered
● Ability to act on own initiative and consult with the team where appropriate
● Willingness learn and apply best practice support strategies to empower people with disabilities to integrate into their own community
The successful candidate will be required to:
● be an active member of the community
● identify and pursue promising local opportunities
● work occasional evenings, overnights, weekends, and bank holidays
