Your Role: 

Reporting to the Assistant Manager in the Insolvency/Recovery Team, you will be responsible for assessing and underwriting Standard Financial Statements (SFSs) & Prescribed Financial Statements (PFSs) in line with Credit Policy. This involves interacting and engaging with a number of different parties including Insolvency Service of Ireland, UK Insolvency Service, and the Official Assignee in Bankruptcy, Personal Insolvency Practitioners and solicitors.

Your Responsibilities: 

  • Deal efficiently and expertly with incoming calls and written correspondence from customers and their Solicitors, and from Insolvency Services and Personal Insolvency Practitioners/ Accountants/ Debt Management firms.
  • Underwrite & assess Insolvency and Recovery cases and provide guidance on potential repayment options available to borrowers, also review where a customer proposal has been presented to the bank, in relation to Insolvency or Unsecured Recoveries and present to management for review in line with the banks Discretion Matrix.
  • Respond to queries from our solicitors, draft and review legal documentation for unsecured accounts and personal insolvency arrangements.
  • Maintain thorough understanding of the unsecured recovery policies, procedures and strategies, ensure adherence to the CCMA / CPC / SME regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain and monitor on-going contact on cases and adhere to agreed SLA’s.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the criteria required within the unsecured portfolios including Standard Financial Statements, Statement of Means, waterfalls, and SLA’s, ensuring strict compliance with the Bank’s recovery policies.
  • Meet individual performance targets and Key Performance Indicators
  • Adhere fully to the Bank processes and procedures
  • Comply fully with the industry regulatory procedures directly relating to the Bank
  • Conduct general administration, PC work and filing.
  • Proactive daily administration of arrears cases.
  • Assess and underwrite Standard Financial Statements (SFS’s) & Prescribed Financial Statements (PFS’s) in line with Credit Policy, while also being cognisant of Circuit & High Court Rulings.
  • Prepare & swear affidavits.
  • Actively participating in weekly/monthly team meetings
  • Work in a professional and timely manner in a fast paced and challenging Unit

Requirements: 

  • Must have Loans and Regulations Exams (APA). Recognised qualification /accreditation i.e. APA/QFA in order to be in a position to discuss with customers product information and give advice in relation to forbearance options when required (if giving financial advice to customers)
  • Excellent communication skills with proven experience of dealing with customers either face to face or over the telephone.
  • Ability to engage with people by phone and negotiate realistic and timely agreements/settlements. Knowledge of the Insolvency Act and the new arrangements available would be an advantage.

This is a permanent position based in PTSB's St.Stephens Green Dublin (Hybrid option available within the Republic Of Ireland Only)
