Purpose of the Post

· Under the direction of the Chief Physicist, the Principal Physicist will take responsibility for the Medical Physics support for radiation services in the Acute Services, HSE Mid-West.

· The Principal Physicist will provide a leadership role in the provision and development of radiation protection and quality assurance for radiation services.

· They will contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care by providing medical physics scientific and technical support to the Acute Services, HSE Mid-West professionals.

They will liaise closely with the Radiation Protection Advisers (RPA) and Medical Physics Experts (MPE) in the Group.
