What is the Role:

The Engineering and Enablement team, part of Digital Platform organisation, is responsible for the delivery of Platform & Technology Enablement, Quality Assurance, Framework & Standards Leadership and Enterprise Apps Management for AIB. As a Pipeline Engineer, reporting to the Pipeline Engineering & ETH Lead, you will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining shared CI/CD workflows. You will work closely with other Centres of Expertise, including QA, Security, and Engineering, to implement engineering capabilities that support standardisation, efficiency, and overall delivery quality.

The successful candidate will be technical, curious, and self‑driven, someone who enjoys learning, solving problems, and influencing the adoption of best‑practice and innovation DevSecOps patterns across the organisation.

Key accountabilities:

  • Contribute to the DevOps and Automation Community of Practice.
  • Promote, integrate, and implement new DevOps tooling and strategic improvements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve build and deployment issues as part of a platform-focused team.
  • Collaborate closely with Development, Test, Infrastructure, Security, and Operations teams.
  • Mentor and support development teams in applying DevSecOps practices effectively.
  • Script complex automation solutions to eliminate repetitive manual tasks.
  • Drive initiatives that support a stable, scalable, and automated SDLC across multiple archetypes.

What You Will Bring:

  • 4+ years' experience with Continuous Integration, build automation, and deployment tooling.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps principles and CI/CD methodologies.
  • Hands‑on experience with Jenkins & Declarative Pipelines, or similar CI/CD tools (GitLab, GitHub Actions, etc.).
  • Experience using Git, Maven, Gradle, Groovy, Docker/Containerisation.
  • Solid understanding of all stages of the SDLC.
  • General knowledge of quality processes within development lifecycles.
  • Understanding of branching strategies and version control best practices.
  • Relevant third‑level IT qualification.
  • Experience working in an Agile delivery environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder‑influencing skills.
  • Preferred experience working with Azure cloud
  • Preferred experience working with Kubernetes environments
  • Preferred experience working in Java Enterprise application contexts
  • Preferred experience working in Configuration Management Tools such as Ansible
