We are currently seeking a highly-motivated Pool Therapy Assistant to join our team in Bray, Co Wicklow.

Contract Type: 1 Year Fixed Term Contract

Contract Hours: 39 hours per week

Salary Scale: €34,100 - €39,626 pro rata per annum. Salary scales are subject to LSI’s (Long Service Increments)

This pay scale is subject to increases in 2026 in accordance with the recent WRC agreement towards enhanced pay adjustments in Section 39 organisations.

Annual Leave Entitlement: 30 days pro rata per annum

Overview of the Post:

To work as a member of the Hydrotherapy Team assisting with warm water pool-based therapy programmes and water familiarity programmes for neurodiverse children and young people, to be delivered on both a group and individual basis.

The successful candidate will have

Essential Criteria:

  • Irish Water Safety Lifeguard or RLSS Lifeguard qualification.
  • Experience of working in a pool and/or hydrotherapy pool environment.
  • Broad knowledge of the Enable Ireland organisation.
  • Knowledge of swimming pool emergency operational procedures.
  • Knowledge and understanding of health and safety as it relates to swimming pools.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Knowledge of the disability sector.
  • Understanding of the importance of the role of the adult when working with young children.
  • Understanding of a family-centred approach in the delivery of services.
  • Candidates must have current eligibility to work in the State.
  • Candidates must hold a valid full and clean driving licence for within the State/jurisdiction with access to own private transport.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Swim Teacher Level 1/2.
  • Experience working with children with disability.
  • FETAC Level 5 qualification in childcare, special needs or equivalent recognized qualification/experience.
  • Pool plant operators’ course.
  • Experience of Pool Plant management including water treatment procedures.
  • Experience of Microsoft Office packages and service-related database systems.
