We are seeking applications from energetic and enthusiastic individuals to join our team for the above positions. Job Objectives

Dedicated staff member responsible for overseeing the implementation of PBS strategies, providing guidance and supporting colleagues. The PBS lead should be knowledgeable in PBS principles and the Capable Environments framework. This approach fosters a supportive environment and encourages continuous improvement across the organisation.

This role focuses on supporting staff teams, strengthening practice, and improving outcomes for the people we support. The post holder will work closely with operational management to ensure consistent implementation of behaviour support approaches in line with organisational values, HIQA standards, and best practice.

The successful candidate will work with management teams and clinicians to

  • Improve consistency and quality of care through enhancing staff confidence and competence.
  • Improve quality of life for the people we support
  • Reduce restrictive practices

This will include the following on a day-to-day basis:

  • Live our Mission, Vision and Values.
  •  Promote the principles of Positive Behaviour Support within practice.

  •  Regularly review quality of life indicators for the people we support.

  •  Regularly review the quality of support provided by staff, and with support, seek opportunities to improve staff confidence and staff practice as it relates to quality of life/ the Capable Environments framework.

  • Engage in continuous professional development/ supervision as it relates to role. · Collaborate with the Behavioural Specialist, completing assessments and/ or staff training under supervision as appropriate/ relevant to role. 

  • Model good practice through the consistent implementation of all PBS strategies as per the behaviour support plan, and model good communication with relevant departments. 

  • Model, coach, and provide feedback/ assistance to colleagues to ensure consistent implementation of all strategies within behaviour support plan. 

  • Oversee, monitor, and support colleagues to complete all relevant data monitoring. Scan this to the Behavioural Specialist weekly/ as per request. 

  • Collaborate with the Behavioural Specialist and centre management in the review of incidents of behaviours of concern to identify learnings and additional supports required. 

  • Participate in regular meetings with the Behavioural Specialist to provide feedback and updates on plans. 

  • Collaborate with centre management to consider how staff practice impacts on quality of life, and identify opportunities to support team members and enhance practice, e.g. identify additional trainings, scheduling of roster, etc.

  • Adopt a trauma-informed, least restrictive approach to the support of people with complex needs. Ensure a primary focus on preventative and supportive strategies.

Skills Requirement

​​​​​​Qualification:

  •  Level 7/8 qualification in social care or equivalent
  • Enrolled on a master's in applied Behaviour Analysis (or planning to) (Access to tuition funding assistance, where applicable)

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of standards and legislation relevant to the area.
  • Previous team leadership experience 

Experience:

  • Minimum 3-4 years working in residential care Desirable 
  • Experience in PBS competency frameworks 

Skills:

  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and judgement
  • Making critical decisions and recommendations.
  • Capable of working within a fast-paced and flexible team.
  • Good listener and open to learning from others.
  • Excellent organisational skills / self-motivation / self-starter.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and IT skills.
  • Dedicated, reliable and flexible approach to work.
  • Demonstrated history of caseload management.
