Job Purpose:

The Practice Learning Centre Manager will ensure professional leadership and governance in relation to the delivery of Practice Learning Opportunities for the Degree in Social Work. The role includes supporting students, Practice Teachers and On-Site Supervisors; promoting adherence to the NISCC Standards of Practice Learning for the Degree in Social Work (2020); and ensuring that concerns regarding a student's practice, behaviour, conduct or progression are identified, documented and managed in a timely, fair and proportionate manner.

The post holder will play a key role in the management, strategic development and expansion of our high-quality and innovative Regional Practice Learning Model. They will contribute to ensuring the provision of accessible, diverse and high-quality practice learning opportunities that meet the learning and professional development requirements of students undertaking the Degree in Social Work. This will include supporting and developing partnerships across the community and voluntary sector to maintain a geographically diverse portfolio of placements that reflects a broad range of service user needs and provides students with meaningful and relevant social work learning experiences.

Essential Criteria:

• Minimum 3 years post- qualifying social work experience
• Accredited Northern Ireland Practice Teaching Award
• Full driving licence and use of vehicle for work.
• Evidence of ongoing Professional in Practice
• Evidence of involvement in Practice Learning and Social Work education.
• Experience of managing or supporting colleagues or students. E.g. supervision/continued professional development/education and training.

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience of coordinating training needs and delivery of training modules
• Capacity to plan, deliver and review services at a strategic level.
• Proven working knowledge of current issues related to the development of social work education and training.
• A robust understanding and knowledge of the community and voluntary sector would be an advantage.
• Experience of assessment and providing feedback in undergraduate and postgraduate Social Work education.
• Excellent, proven computer skills, including email, internet, databases,
• spreadsheets, budget control.
