Preschool Classroom Assistant (One to one basis)

We are seeking a Classroom Assistant to join our Preschool team at Kids@BT9, Belfast. The role would involve providing support on a one-to-one basis to enable the child to access the Curricular Guidance for Preschool Education within Northern Ireland.

This role will be from 9.30am-12pm, Monday to Friday, until the end of June 2024.

​​​​​​​Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one support to a preschool-aged child in a classroom setting
• Devise Personal Learning Plans for the child
• Implement individual strategies based on the Personal Learning Plans
• Monitoring and documenting the child’s progress
• Communicating regularly with the child’s learning team and parents
• Creating a safe environment where the child feels comfortable and supported

Essential criteria:

• Previous relevant experience
• Relevant qualification eg. Early Years
• Knowledge of SEN and supporting children with complex learning needs
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal
• Patient and caring attitude

N.B- There is a possibility of transitioning with the child to their next school, pending further interviews/assessment
