Principal Psychology Specialist

There are currently two permanent whole-time vacancies available with a regional focus on Social Inclusion services for the HSE South West Region. The base of work will be agreed with the person on appointment, but one post will have a substantive base in Cork city and one in Kerry. Appointees will take the lead responsibility for a geographical area and may also take a lead on youth or adult service provision for the region, depending on clinical expertise.

A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign for Psychology Services in the HSE South West Region from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled.

Purpose of the Post:

The overall purpose of these posts is to assist the Regional Director of Psychology in the clinical governance of psychological services and to contribute to and support the development of the social inclusion service in line with divisional operational plans.

The Principal Psychologist Specialist (Social Inclusion) will provide operational governance, line-management and supervision as required for staff in the designated area or responsibility, in addition to carrying a clinical caseload. The post-holder will also support the Regional Director of Psychology with designated departmental organisational tasks and projects relevant to the development of Social Inclusion psychology services, offering leadership to more junior staff as required.

Post Specific Requirements / Experience:

Applicants must:

Demonstrate depth and breadth of achievement in the development of high-quality, integrated, accountable and efficient Psychology services as relevant to the role.

And

Demonstrate depth and breadth of experience in the provision of assessment, formulation, intervention, evaluation, reporting and supervision with a broad range of clinical problems in terms of complexity and severity seen within the care group area as relevant to the role.
