Principal Social Worker

Purpose of the Role

The post holder will be assigned to The Alders Unit, a specialist child sexual abuse service and will be expected to contribute to the overall management and leadership of the service as well as undertaking clinical work. It will be necessary for the person appointed to possess the skills, knowledge and adaptability to work in The Alders Unit as part of the management team of the Unit, including the provision of supervision and line management to Senior Social Workers /staff members employed in the service.

Essential Criteria:

Each candidate must :

· Have obtained the National Qualification in Social Work (NQSW) or equivalent.

· Have a minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in Social Work.

· Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in working in the area of Child Sexual Abuse.

· Have evidence of registration with CORU.

· Possess the requisite knowledge and ability, including a high standard of suitability to discharge satisfactorily the duties of the office.

· Possess a high standard of professional attainment.

· Have relevant experience of working in a managerial capacity and in the provision of supervision.
