Primary Function / Goals / Objectives

The Process Services Operator reports to the Operations Front Line Leader. The primary responsibilities of a PSO are:

The operation of all equipment to support the moulding of components for medical devices including the installation of tooling and process troubleshooting and stabilisation. The operation of all equipment to support the extrusion of tubing for medical devices including the installation of tooling and process troubleshooting and stabilisation. The control and movement of materials in a warehouse environment to support all plant operations.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operation or moulding machines and extrusion lines.
  • Inspection and disposition of products.
  • Ensure availability of materials to Moulding and Extrusion and Assembly Operations.
  • Complete and comply with all documentation as required in the process.
  • Problem solving
  • Receipt and movement of raw materials
  • Shipping of Finished goods and completion of all related documentation.
  • Handling materials as required
  • Adhere to all Good Manufacturing requirements.
  • Ensure that all duties etc. are carried out in a safe manner ensuring that any potential safety issues and areas of improvement are highlighted to Manager.
  • Ensure that activities are completed within budgeted guidelines e.g. waste levels, per plan requirements.
  • Adhere to all relevant Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Generate and implement continuous improvement ideas
  • Perform computer applications as required.
  • Partake in project work, such as product transfers, validation of facilities, equipment or processes and other relevant operations/quality improvement projects/programs.
  • Complete environmental activities such as recycling and waste minimization are adhered to and improvements are made where possible.

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • No supervisory duties are associated with this position.

EHS RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Comply with all company EHS policies and procedures and demonstrate EHS best practices in all work activities
  • Report any EHS incidents and/or Near Misses (unsafe acts and conditions) immediately to your manager
  • Attend all required EHS training and medical surveillance programs;
  • Wear PPE as required.
  • Support a culture of EHS excellence by recognizing and submitting opportunities for EHS improvement to your manager and/or site EHS
Education Required
  • Leaving Certificate Standard

KNOWLEDGE

  • Previous experience of working in a regulated manufacturing environment
  • Enthusiastic and energetic with the ability to integrate quickly into a team environment
  • Demonstrate a flexible and innovative approach to work
  • Positive communications & interpersonal skills
  • Technical experience in moulding and extrusion processes is highly desirable.
  • Level 6/7 qualification in polymer/engineering related discipline is advantageous.

ACCOUNTABILITY / SCOPE

  • This position reports to the Operations Front Line Leader
  • Ability to interact with other departments within the plant and also members of various teams.
