Role Profile:
Reporting to the Process Manager in Tirlán’s dairy processing facility in Belview, Kilkenny, this role is responsible for the optimisation of plant and product performance. The Process Technical Support Lead will be assigned ownership for a particular aspect of the Belview Manufacturing Process alongside providing technical support to resolve and improve manufacturing issues and product functionality and product quality throughout the entire process. This role will support the Process Team through investigations, ongoing development and improvements in plant process and will provide a holistic support to cross functional teams in the delivery of site performance.
Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Manage and report on end-to-end process and plant optimisation across Packing and Warehouse areas
- Qualify and requalify processes and equipment against defined performance KPI’s
- Coordinate and document technical investigations into deviations, non-conformances, and process failures, ensuring timely resolution and robust corrective actions.
- Troubleshooting issues and identifying opportunities to enhance whole plant performance, product quality and drive KPI improvement
- Lead and execute process initiatives to drive operational success and strategic goals
- Leverage site MES systems to enable data-driven decision-making and performance analysis
- Provide technical and operational support to site teams and external teams
- Ensure Quality Management Systems (QMS) are maintained, updated, and adhered to where applicable
- Support the development of technical skills within the team through coaching and mentoring
- Contribute to the implementation of digital tools and automation technologies that improve process visibility, control, and efficiency
Qualifications and Experience
- QQI Level 8 Special Purpose Award Diploma in Process Engineering or equivalent(Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma)
- Third Level qualification in science, Food, Engineering or related discipline desirable
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Food/Beverage or Pharmaceutical manufacturing sectors.
- Proven experience in process optimisation, technical support, and operational excellence
- Results driven, customer focused with high performance capability in a fast-moving challenging business environment
- Strong analytical skills with experience using MES or similar systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to bring people with them for the best outcomes.
