Production Materials Coordinator

FLI Precast Solutions design and manufacture bespoke precast concrete solutions for construction projects in the Water, Data, Aviation, Energy and Residential industries. FLI specialise in developing solutions which maximise off site manufacture of products to reduce site health and safety risk, offer enhanced levels of quality, increase efficiencies and shorter lead times for our customers.

We are recruiting a Production Materials Co-Ordinator to join our busy Production Team. Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Materials Co-Ordinator will support the Production Manager and Production Supervisors in the co-ordination of raw materials required for off site manufacturing works.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Support Production Manager in the procurement and management of raw materials required for manufacturing process.
  • Review production drawings to determine raw materials requirements including lifter, reinforcement, pipe couplers, or other items to be cast into precast products.
  • Agree best approach regarding insourcing/outsourcing of reinforcement.
  • Track and co-ordinate the receipt of customer supplied cast ins.
  • Ensure all raw materials required are ordered in a timely manner to meet manufacturing schedule.
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding lead time and cost and on materials.
  • Check off, record and complete spot checks on reinforcement deliveries.
  • Carryout monthly reinforcement stock takes.
  • Co-ordinate palleting of all materials required for each precast product to be manufactured in advance of planned production dates.
  • Follow all Health and Safety rules and regulations on site.
  • Any other duties as may be reasonably assigned.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Civil Engineering Diploma or two years' experience in reinforced concrete construction.
  • Ability to read Production drawings including reinforcement drawings, bending schedule and plans, elevations and sections.
  • Ability to direct a small team of operatives.
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as on own initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Efficient in computer skills including MS Outlook, Excel and PDF Editor.
