The Galway Site at Ballybrit on the outskirts of Galway city has been part of Fannin Ltd since its acquisition in 2004 and operates a modern manufacturing and testing facility providing ready to use Microbiological media and supplying to the Clinical, Pharma and Food industries throughout the island of Ireland.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
The principal duties and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:
- Manufacture and/or process microbiological plate media in accordance with approved procedures and batch documentation.
- Operate production equipment safely and effectively following training and standard operating procedures.
- Prepare, handle, fill, inspect and/or pack microbiological media as required by the production process.
- Carry out line clearance, equipment checks and basic pre-start inspections.
- Accurately record production information, quantities, process checks and other required data.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), hygiene, contamination-control and site quality procedures.
Experience & profile:
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Knowledge of contamination control, cleanroom or controlled-environment practices and GMP would be desirable but not a necessary requirement as comprehensive onsite training will be given.
- Ability to follow written procedures and manufacturing instructions accurately.
- Good attention to detail and a strong commitment to product quality.
- Ability to complete manufacturing documentation accurately and legibly.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team

- Ability to produce results, prioritising objectives and scheduling work to make best use of time/resources.
- Ability to work well under pressure while adhering to strict deadlines.
